El Club de Amigos del Foro Jávea de Vecindad celebró el pasado 15 de julio, en el salón de actos de Casa de Cultura de Jávea, la conferencia titulada, “La compleja actualidad mediterránea: factores socioeconómicos y políticos”.

La conferencia contó con la asistencia de un centenar de personas que siguieron con gran interés las explicaciones de Javier Albarracín, Director de Desarrollo Socioeconómico del IEMed. La conferencia fue moderada por el Secretario General del Foro Jávea de Vecindad, José Luis Boronat.

El principal objetivo de la conferencia fue plantear los principales factores económicos, políticos y sociales que han llevado a los países del Mediterráneo a la situación actual así como las necesarias reformas a implementar.

El 12 de marzo tuvo lugar en la sede de la Fundación la Jornada “Sociedad y tensión en El Magreb y Oriente Medio”

Especialistas en el mundo árabe analizaron en una jornada organizada por Foro Jávea de Vecindad, las revueltas sociales en el Magreb y Oriente Medio y donde pusieron de manifiesto que “España podría beneficiarse de El Magreb si deja de ver a esta zona sólo como un problema y lo viera como una zona con grandes oportunidades”.

Así lo destacó el profesor de la Universidad de Alicante y experto en pensamiento árabe y musulmán, Víctor Pallejà de Bustinza durante la conferencia que ha impartido en el marco de la jornada “Sociedad y Tensión en El Magreb y Oriente Medio” celebrada el pasado 12 de Marzo en Jávea. 

A juicio de Pallejà lo que pase en el Magreb tiene mucha importancia para España. “Guste o no hay que hacer todo lo posible para que las sociedades se transformen y dispongan de una mejor gestión y de un mejor reparto de beneficios” y alertó que “si El Magreb evoluciona a peor, podría perjudicar negativamente a España en lo que al  turismo se refiere”.

The Head of the Palestinian Diplomatic Mission in Spain, Ambassador Musa Amer Odeh, champion of the Palestinian struggle, gave a lecture on November 12, invited by the Jávea Neighbourhood Forum.

His lecture began by tracing back the origins of Palestine to the time of the Canaanites. According to his explanation, the Canaanites came to embrace the three monotheistic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam). These people lived together in peace as one until after the First World War, when the British Mandate of Palestine, with support of the United Nations, proceeded to create a “national homeland for the Jewish people." With masterly delivery, he reconstructed the successive attempts by the United Nations, U.S., Russia and Europe to achieve peace in the Middle East. In the end, Israel, for a variety of reasons, has always violated the terms of every agreement that has been arrived at. This, according to Amer, is the key to peace; compliance with the agreements signed in Oslo.

Amer said that, "Israel is firstly and solely responsible for stopping the peace talks." In this regard, he noted that currently there is no negotiation with the Israeli side, who he accused of not respecting the agreements. "Israel has no right to transfer their citizens to our land and drive out us Palestinians." He also said that Palestinians, unlike Israel, have fulfilled their part of the terms established in the Oslo accords.

El Club de Amigos del Foro Javea abordó el futuro del turismo con una conferencia de Vicente M. Monfort Mir 

El Club de Amigos del Foro Jávea acogió el pasado 22 de octubre, en el Salón de Actos de la Casa Primicias de Jávea una conferencia del Director del Instituto de Estudios Turísticos de la Secretaría General de Turismo y Comercio Interior del Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio, Vicente M. Monfort Mir. La charla, títulada ”La investigación en Turismo: la experiencia del Instituto de Estudios Turísticos”, abordó la actual situación de este sector, y servíó para entender algunas pautas de conducta de esta industria de cara al futuro. Vicente M. Monfort Mir es Licenciado y Doctor en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales por la Universitat de València y Diplomado en profesorado de EGB por la misma universidad. Es, además, autor de varias obras sobre turismo y participante habitual en congresos, seminarios y encuentros científicos nacionales e internacionales del sector.

Con esta actividad el Club de Amigos del Foro Jávea consolida su voluntad de provocar debates de gran interés para la sociedad de Jávea y de toda su comarca en beneficio de sus ciudadanos. El Club nació como una de las iniciativas sociales del Foro Jávea de Vecindad; Fundación que ha alcanzado un gran prestigio en la organización de congresos y jornadas internacionales sobre temas que afectan a todo el área mediterránea: entre estos, encuentros de jóvenes juristas, arquitectos y varias jornadas políticas con la participación de miembros de los ejecutivos de países como Marruecos, Jordania, Egipto y España. El Club de Amigos del Foro Jávea permite abrir estas actividades a toda la sociedad civil de Jávea.

The exhibition, on loan from IEMed, is entitled "Ramon Llull and the Encounter Between Cultures"

The inauguration of the exhibition “Raimundus Christianus Arabicus: Ramon Llull and the Encounter Between Cultures "was held on August 6th at the headquarters of the Foundation in “Casa Primicias” in Jávea.
The Jávea Neighbourhood Forum Foundation presented the exhibition "Ramon Llull and the Encounter Between Cultures" to the public. This exhibition offers a look into the life, work and thoughts of the intellectual and philosopher Ramon Llull. The exhibition, which has been loaned by the Institut Europeu de la Mediterrania (IEMed) and was inaugurated by the former Commissioner for External Relations of the EU, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, presents 32 works from private collections and from the Ramon Llull  Documentation Centre of the University of Barcelona. Also included in this exhibit are two XVI Century portolan charts on loan from the Cartographic Institute of Catalonia and five handwritten and printed facsimiles of Llull’s works. On display are also multimedia and multilingual presentations of four works, including the Breviculum, a compendium of scenes from Llull’s life made up of richly illustrated miniatures. The exhibition has a distinctly bibliographical character.
